Hillsborough – a police conspiracy?
Who can you trust?
Unfortunately, police conspiracy remains a key issue in resolving the injustice of those 96 killed at Hillsborough.
When first looking in on the Hillsborough disaster it may be difficult to understand the families experiences and why the disaster caused such outrage, well it all started through the manner in which the police portrayed the incident. It doesn’t take long for the emotion and then sympathy for those associated with the fatality to build. All a while a sense of frustration grows as you clench you knuckles, knowing that the death of those helpless victims could so easily have been avoided.
Just like anything you’re unfamiliar with, the more you read into something, the greater your knowledge will become on the matter. With Hillsborough, the police claimed that events that day were due to “drunken Liverpool fans” it doesn’t take much poking around to realise these claims were more likely a coverup for the authorities lack of protection and service on the day.
Maria Eagle MP asked the question
Back in 2009, The Telegraph describes how MP Maria Eagle was certain that police reporting was an organised conspiracy, in which reports and data were edited in a attempt to deflect the blame from the authorities and back towards those Liverpool fans. Why else would these amendments have taken place? The forces feared there’d be a huge backlash from the public as they single-handedly failed to contain and operate a safe service.
I’m in total support of Eagle’s views, the police were there to protect and control the fans, instead they failed on their duties and when called upon to accurately distribute the Liverpool fans into the correct pens, they failed resulting in the 96 fatalities. They then blamed the fans.
Lest we forget
It is hoped in September the families will receive an accurate account of what actually happened – this is the least they deserve after South Yorkshire police failed not only the lives of those lost, but the families to which they’ve ungraciously and continually blamed.
The police authorities are the supposed backbone protection for our society, how can such trust be placed when the lies and deceit are so blatant for all to see?
