Poll: Favourite boots of all time

Just a few days ago I released my first boot related blog, which included my top 3 most memorable boots. After an insightful few days of flicking through your comments and tweets, it was clear the same boots were mentioned over and over again. So I’ve compiled a poll of the top 10 boots mentioned, in the hope of finding the ultimate winner.

So this is where you guys come in; simply vote for your favourite boot below and tell me why it should be in the poll, if not listed.

What are your favourite boots of all time?

Anythin by adidas. world cup, preds or copas. One missing off the list Puma Dalglish ( silver & gold) from mid to late eighties.

Adidas 2000

Must be black boots  -  coloured boots cannot be taken seriously

I bought my first pair of predators when I was 11 and despite giving other boots a go throughout the years I could never stick with them. Once you have preds nothing else will do. The perfect boot!

martin_moscrop 5 pts

preds all the way! the world cups wer beautys too!

Charlie_28 5 pts

Predators all the way! Best boots to date!

Predators for me. Loved them so much. Shame the new ones don't fit my feet any more.

Puma King. Coz my dad told me so!

My first pair were Puma Kings. Though back then I was playing AFL football and I was about the same age as you when you started about 7 or 8 playing the under 9s league. Then when I converted over to real football (or soccer) I bought my first pair of boots that would change my life. They were a pair of Adidas Copa Mundials. The most comfortable pair of boots I've ever worn. I'm quite tall and not as quick as some others so speed wasn't an issue. But if I got the technique correct when striking the ball I was confident it would go in the back of the net because they were so sweet to connect to the ball with. All in all I can't say enough good things about them. I got them around the time those white Beckham boots were first being marketed but I don't think they were even out yet!!!

The very first Lotto futura's were my fav. First boot to mould round your foot I think.

Best bots on the list are world cups but the best I had were blue val sport well made and comfy !

adidas predator accelerator in white with black stripes. amazingly comfortable, great amount of swerve on the ball and looked amazing. also had brilliant marketing, loved the ad with del piero pulling them out of the wall and Beckham shooting at a tiny hole with angel by massive attack to set the tone. miss my accelerators

Can the Copa Mundial ever be touched ??  Has to be worn by more pro's and amateur's than any other boot in history .... a classic.  Plus, they're black ..... not bloody green, blue, orange or some fluorescent rubbish.

Gotta be preds. I remember buying silver ones with silver dragon stitching cos David beckham wore them. They cost me a fortune but the first time I wore them they felt like an old pair of slippers. So damn comfortable.

I loved my Puma Kings and even went as far as buying a second hand pair when I couldn't get the good ones anymore. That said, the opriginal predator was a hell of a boot and scored more goals with those on than any other. That is mainly because they seemed to correct my aweful shooting:)

Joey B Adidas World Cups all the way! Classic black boots and like wearing slippers.  I had the astroturf boots, moulded studs and screw stud in ones.  every season a new pair of each.  Nothing else felt as good!

My best boots were a pair of lotto from the late 90s lasted ages

first boots - puma dalglish silver.

What I don't  understand is that when predators first came out, the had massive plastic fins, which were the bit that gave all the swerve/power.  Every generation since has seen less and less of the plastic fins.  Are they gradually realising it doesnt actually work?

Waa7 6 pts

quirkagio Great point so surely their not Predators anymore, just plain Adidas with greater stitching, Adistitch!!!

Beansy84 6 pts

Waa7  quirkagio the first preds were like nothing i'd ever seen! i was around 9 or 10 i think and they were way out of my price range!

Waa7 6 pts

Beansy84  quirkagio The later Preds were shocking, I spend 200 on them, first match I took a free kick and the sole came loose and that was the last time I wore Preds.

Beansy84 6 pts

Waa7  quirkagio i hope you brought them back to get a refund! you see lads playing in well old preds sometimes, they seem to last if you take care of them

Irwinator 5 pts

Profi bought second hand and they lasted 2 seasons, until a big split appeared, loved them closely followed by CopMundial

ShahiThaKilla 6 pts

Tons of Adidas in this, not enough Nike tbh.

Red puma king as a kid, brazil lotto 2nd

Puma King's!!! 1st boots I ever had...and the 2nd...and the 3rd...

leedobbo23 5 pts

Coppa's no contest I use to sit in the bath with them on to mould round me feet & put clothes pegs on the tongues

Joey B 91 pts

Tried to vote twice! It clocked me and said no. Damn this sophisticated technology....

Beansy84 6 pts

Joey B next up has to be a 'worst boots' version, full of Hi-Tec, Dunlop, Gola and other naff boots taht i can't think of right now

lucasfuturecptn 5 pts

My first boots were Puma Kings so remember them fondly.  I grew up watching Robbie Fowler too and everybody always talked about Kings so I had to have them.

But my best boots of all time were a pair of Mizunos I got off some Sport Direct-predecessor mail order company that I don't remember the name of.  They were £16(!) and I remember getting a better feel off them than the Predators and Vapors I have clogging up my cupboard now.

JF_1010 5 pts

Adidas '98 Accelerators  (Predators) clearly the best looking and the best boots I ever played in (all other Predators, Copa's and WC's included)

MattyP97 6 pts

Whats wrong with 2007 preds?  They were my first pair of boots and i loved them, dont like the new ones, though.

Wrighty185 5 pts

Adidas Goal - Had my best ever season in them aged 14 - scored 18 goals impressive as I played half the season as a centre back #wrighty185

leerob08 5 pts

The Predator Accelerators and Manias were the best boots ever made. The new Preds however are toilet.

ryzymillzy8 5 pts

they dont make em liked they used too... its getting harder and harder to find black boots these days.

MatthewVenis 5 pts

Predator all day everyday, you can't go wrong!

Beansy84 6 pts

where are the Lotto boots gone? they should be on the list!

Joey B 91 pts

Beansy84 I know, I know. Democratically not elected on. How? I supoose not enough people loved them like us brother...

Beansy84 6 pts

Joey B alas, it appears that way, can't really argue with the Predators leading the poll, but i'm not too keen on the latest designs. But as for them Nike Vapors, nah man, ya need a good leather upper!

Waa7 6 pts

Beansy84  Joey B The Vapors are for premiership and pro's but Junior Lge or Sunday lge in Britain, they are too light and offer no protection.

TobySorabjee 6 pts

The predators! Will never forgot Jonny's droppy against Australia in 2003, wearing preds!

calebyoung07 5 pts

Nike Tiempo are the best out of those lot! beautiful touches for great tekkers.
