The economy grew by 1% last quarter and our unemployment figures are better than they have been for five years, you idiot. Don't let pesky facts get in the way of a good uninformed rant though. What a prat.
Joey, the writing prowess is amazing, how come??
You grew up inan area devoid (so many believe) of opportunity, yet you are educated, ariculate and in touch. Why o you believe you get such bad press, tbh, I used to hate your name mentioned, but fair play, the more I read and hear, you captivate me. How come?
Stuartm I cannot answer that mate. I speak from the heart, I don't see myself as intelligent. I read, I think about things and I form an opinion. That is all. I say things how i see them, sometimes if i was more intelligent maybe i'd keep those opinions to myself.
@Joey B @Stuartm Hey J, I'm liking your honesty fella. Why didn't you come to Stoke? I believe you met with TP? Were we not big time? Wish you'd come and coach my son, he's left back at Port Vale academy, you could teach him so much, why doesn't he understand it's 100% commitment not 90! Good luck Joey I admire you immensely. Nice one fella
Do you not think that future generations of politicians will be smarter, more transparent and more interested in their peers? The current crop are the generation that have enjoyed wealth gained and protected by serving each other and nobody else. in Twenty - Thirty years time this country will hopefully be led by one of the kids who is currently feeling disconnected, un-interested, and abandoned. I hope real change will come about then.. I'm not convinced anything will happen before that....
Unless we all get on e-bay, buy some masks and stand outside Parliament; at least until kettled into a corner and hosed down by water cannons.
RavingChimp think they will have to adapt to the times, like everybody else. The way people communicate is changing. If a modern day politician wants to be successful then they have to adapt to the world around them.
Unfortunately the majority who take to social media use it for self publicity, as do politicians when they're on the television. There are exceptions but I find the majority are looking to make a name for themselves; they should be doing that by making our country better for all - not just them.
I'd like to see the government completely revamped. The idea of parties vying for attention and point scoring against each other on Question Time doesn't interest me, its old hat and self serving for a lot of them. I'd love to see a parliament made up of no political parties, a parliament of decent, hard working folk who strive to better our country, our health system, education, our nurses, policemen, soldiers, firemen, welfare state, army, navy, airforce and living conditions.
A parliament of civilians (still elected as individuals) but with 1 common goal - this goal is not election as ruling party its making our country better for all.
They can still oppose ideas, they can still jeer each other they can still have their status as MPs but no party affiliations - just the public in mind.
I see people who are deserving of our help who get none.
I see people living in the streets who made a bad decision or had some bad luck and need a hand.
I see benefits being cut for carers of disabled children.
I see the elderly getting by on a pittance, let down by the country they made great.
I see banks and huge corporations getting let off from enormous tax bills which could pay for all of the above.
OUR MPs (or the majority) ignore this and spend time preparing a speech to belittle their opponents.
I see the need for change.
I enjoy your site and your twitter feed immensly- I'm @ravingchimp and these are my frustrations.
